The South Woods is a dense forest located along the southern coast of Avalon.[3] Known for its mystical landmarks and strategic importance, the woods house the village of Davis Creek[2] and the fabled Stonehenge.[4]
History
The South Woods, also known as South Woode,[2] serve as home to Davis Creek, a small village surrounded by lush woodlands and primarily inhabited by peasants.[2] The area also features the Cavern of the Insect Nobles, a treacherous pathway leading out of the forest,[5] and the ring of standing stones known as Stonehenge, which acts as a portal to the Earth realm.[3] The Vale, a mystical route, links Stonehenge to Camelot.[4]
In recent times, during an invasion of Otherworld by the undead forces of Horoam'ce, the Goat of Self-Propagation, the South Woods became a key defensive front. As the Goat’s army conquered territories beyond the Great Rift and the Wailing Mists, Captain Britain dispatched Meggan to defend Davis Creek.[6]
While stationed in the woods, Meggan assembled a small brigade to protect the villagers and monitor the advancing undead forces. Her courageous efforts delayed the enemy’s advance, allowing the villagers to flee to safety and securing crucial time for the final battle against the Goat’s army.[7]Points of Interest
