The Thurian Continent, with the Southern Jungles, the Unexplored South, and the "pre-human civilization" occupying much of the southern coast
At south of the Thurian continent, the Southern Jungles were encompassed in or set north of the Unexplored South,[5] and set north of the "pre-human civilization"), while bordered, clockwise, at west by an inlet or a gulf separating it from Farsun, at north by the kingdoms of Verulia, Kamelia, Thurania and at northeast by Grondar), and the "pre-human civilization",[3][5] the territory of the Serpent-Men.
History
Early Years[]
The unexplored jungles were believed to exist already when time first squalled to birth, and that they were shadowed by the wings of Ka, the Bird of Creation.
Eons ago, seeds drifted from the black gulfs of space and into the unexplored jungles, where they grew as souls-sucking tendrils,[4] known as Yothga.
Thousands years before the Age of Kull, the Bird-Men ruled over the south of Thuria. Wishing to carve out an empire, they first true men of the northern lands, and were defeated in the Northern Mountains, and all the females and brood were slaughtered. The surviving males returned and settled a summit in the unexplored south of the continent, in a high peak of the southern jungles, cheating death thanks to the Amulet of Ka, a splinter from the talons of the Bird of Creation.[4]
Age of Kull[]
Before meeting with Thulsa Doom at the Temple of the Serpent in the Forbidden Swamp, Brule had heard rumors of him from the inhuman wastes to the South, and thus was suspicious of him as he claimed to hail from Grondar.[6]
When Tu was gravely wounded, Kull traveled down south in quest of the Amulet of Ka, he entred the unexplored jungles where his party was attacked by the alien plants, then stumbled into the fight between a Mastodon and Sabre-tooth. Ethias was murdered by the traitorous Akreon, who pretended he drowned while diving for bones. The party eventually met with the bird-men, and asked Ravian for the amulet. Ravian, a weary monarch, was more than willing to give him, to finally rest in peace along with his people. They were by Ravian's nephew Vultus who, still dreaming of past glories, refused to let the humans acquire the Amulet and doom his people. Before dying, Ravian declared that his people's ancient enemy, humankind, had brought them peace at last.[4]
