Synopsis for "Negative Exposure: Conclusion"
When Doctor Octopus finally arrives at the agreed location, Jeff Haight questions what took Doc Ock so long, expressing concern that nobody was supposed to get hurt. Irritated by Jeff's remark, Doc Ock grabs him. Just as the situation escalates, Spider-Man arrives on the scene.
Seeing Spider-Man, Doc Ock tosses Jeff aside and engages in a battle with the web-slinger. It appears that Doctor Octopus has the upper hand and might finally defeat Spider-Man. However, Spider-Man pleads with him to stop and offers to give him anything in return. Doc Ock is skeptical about what Spider-Man could offer.
In a desperate move, Spider-Man hands over one of his webshooters to Doc Ock. However, Doctor Octopus finds this gesture pathetic and crushes the device, causing it to explode and cover him in webbing. Seizing the opportunity, Spider-Man manages to cut off one of Doc Ock's mechanical arms. With Spider-Man momentarily distracted, Doc Ock grabs Jeff and starts to strangle him. In a last-ditch effort to save themselves, Spider-Man surrenders, prompting Ock to capture him as well. As the mechanical arm with Jeff gets closer to Ock's body, Jeff reaches out and hits Doc Ock's sunglasses, blinding him. Jeff then takes a flash photo of Ock's face, causing the arms to release their hold on both Spider-Man and Jeff.
Free from Doc Ock's grasp, Spider-Man quickly subdues him, knocking him out. Jeff takes pictures of the defeated villain. After ensuring that Jeff is not hurt, Spider-Man webs him up, disgusted that Haight helped Ock escape just for the sake of a good photo. Before leaving, Jeff asks Spider-Man for one favor: to deliver the roll of film to Peter Parker for publication.
Later, Officer Anna Kefkin visits Jeff in jail, and when she learns that her boyfriend played a role in Doc Ocks escape, she ends their relationship. She leaves a Daily Bugle newspaper in front of Jeff's cell. Upon seeing the front page, Jeff realizes that the picture he took when he flashed Ock's eyes was used. He landed on Page One by accident, not because of his photography skills. He further realizes with horror that the picture is beautiful, unlike the rest of his work, because it is exactly like the style of Peter Parker's photos: raw, honest and devoid of pretense.
When Doc Ock sees the front page of the Bugle, he is quite amused.
