Synopsis for "The Coming of the Thousand: Part Three"
After immobilizing Spider-Man, Carl kills the doorman Mr. Ambrose, who had come to check the cause of the noise, by entering his mouth, melting and drinking his organs. Carl then explains to Spider-Man that wanting to replicate what had happened to him, he took over the spider that had bitten Peter and ate it: a couple of days later, his consciousness transformed into a cluster of spiders and entered the bodies of the his parents devouring them from the inside and increasing his strength. However, the paralyzing poison wears off and Spidey breaks free, attacking Carl. The latter reveals that to increase his strength and be a match for him he has devoured a dozen people a year. During the fight, Carl hits a power generator and is electrocuted to death... or so it seems: a spider survives and therefore also Carl's conscience, who is already thinking about trying to take Spider-Man's body again, but is accidentally crushed by a passerby who thus puts an end to the threat of the Thousand.
