Spider-Sting (Earth-38418)

History

Spider-Sting was a Spider-Totem who used his abilities as a superhero. He based his name on the acidic webbing he fires. Spider-Sting was recruited by Spider-Man and Spider-Zero to rescue Spiderling from within the Web of Life and Destiny.^[1]

Acidic Webbing

Spider-Sting originated as a "Spidersona"—a type of fan-created character inspired by the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Marvel Comics contacted some fans to create new Spidersonas specifically to be showcased in Spider-Verse (Vol. 3).^[2] Spider-Sting was first introduced in the Spider-Verses profile back-up feature of Spider-Verse (Vol. 3) #2 before making his in-story debut in Spider-Verse (Vol. 3) #6 alongside the other nine Spidersonas.
