History
The Microverse in which Spidra resided was swept with madness caused by the Psycho-Man's emotocaster. This led to the murder of Arcturus Rann, causing the realm to crumble. The remaining members of Rann's subjects managed to flee the destruction as the Man-Thing was drawn to the turmoil of the Microverse.[1]
Mari, Rann's wife, maintained a psychic link with her husband, whose soul had departed to the Realm of the Dead, where it joined Kree hero Mar-Vell in fighting to destroy Death. When Mar-Vell was reborn in the realm of the living, Spidra and the other survivors of the Microverse aided him on behalf of Rann.[2]
They were assigned to watch Pope Immortus and his Church of Immortus, who were trying to topple the stop the reversal of humanity's mutations, because they believed the mutated mankind was destined to conquer the stars. When it became apparent that Immortus was being manipulated by Mr. Church (really Mephisto in disguise) the Ant Men tried to talk Immortus out of listening to him but to no avail.[3] Once Immortus finally realized his mistake, the Ant Men helped convince him to apologize to Reed Richards and offer his help in rebuilding the world.[4]
Later, Spidra and the rest of the Ant Men were present at the wedding of King Britain and Medusa. Spidra's current whereabouts are unknown.[5]
