History
Doctor Spivey was a scientist studying the hellfire energy for Project Hellfire, an occultist division of Weapon Plus. As part of the project, she was tasked by her boss, General Harms, to use hellfire energy to resurrect a group of recently deceased soldiers and make them into super-soldiers. The operation of worked and the Destroyers were reborn, wilder than ever: they wrecked havoc in the facility, killing many personnel and then escaped. During the escape, Hellverine showed up, killed one of the Destroyers and then disappeared along them. Since the Hellfire Program recognized Hellverine as a former identity of Wolverine, Spivey sedated and kidnapped him for Harms interrogate him. When he discovered the Hellverine was, in fact, his son Akihiro, he decided to help Spivey and Harms.[1]
Spivey performed autopsy on the bodies of the two dead Destroyers, disgusting Wolverine, who decided to hunt the remaining undead soldiers alone; since Spivey and Harms had to keep an eye on him, they released an hellhound after him. Their plan didn't work as the hound was killed by the Destroyers.[2]
The actions of the undead soldiers were shown on TV, where the surviving commanding officer of the team that would become the Destroyers, Lieutenant Colonel Leon Townsend, saw them. He traced down the Hellfire Program to the Pentangle and threatened to kill Spivey: he wanted to be turned into another Destroyer to be able to walk again and help his friends regain their sanity. They obliged and infused him with hellfire energy. In the meantime, the Destroyers killed the Secretary of State and Harms demanded to resurrect her: when Spivey replied she wasn't a soldier, Harms responded the Hellfire Project also had the scope of infiltrating demons in the government. Spivey resurrected the Secretary of State and then was knocked out by Harms when she objected that the whole ordeal wasn't a good idea. After the Destroyers, Hellverine and Wolverine killed Harms together, Spivey and the two remining undead were left in charge of Project Hellfire by Akihiro to prevent it from going rogue again.[3]See Also
