While in the present, Cap and the others are joined by Iron Man who has been summoned to be the fourth member of their team. Upon his arrival, the Avengers are told by the Grandmaster each of the Squadron Sinister members' abilities before transporting them to different parts of the world. Grandmaster then explains that his minions are attempting to capture four national monuments: The Statue of Liberty, The Taj Mahal, Big Ben, and the Sphinx. Thor then uses his hammer to transport each Avenger to each of the monuments.
At the Statue of Liberty, Captain America battles against Nighthawk and manages to stop the villain from stealing the statue with his Hawk-plane. In India, Iron Man battles Dr. Spectrum for the Taj Mahal. At first, Dr. Spectrum has the upper hand, but Iron Man eventually defeats him.
In Egypt, Thor battles against Hyperion, who explains that he comes from a Micro-World which was destroyed when the first atom was split by Earth scientists. Thor manages to defeat Hyperion by using his enchanted hammer Mjolnir to shrink Hyperion in size and trap him a sphere of glass.
In England, Goliath runs into Black Knight before taking on the Whizzer, Goliath tells Black Knight to not get involved, however, the Black Knight interferes. Synopsis for "The World Is Not for Burning!"
Elsewhere, the other Avengers appear on Earth as ghost-like wraiths and witness the entire world set ablaze from the increasing heat of the sun. Finding a newspaper, they notice that the date is a month in the future, and in an attempt to free themselves, Wanda attempts to use her hex powers. The group then finds themselves transported back to their proper point in history. They walk to what they think is Avengers Mansion, to find that Nighthawk is inside. Thinking he is the Nighthawk of the Squadron Sinister, the Avengers attack him, but Nighthawk manages to getaway. Finding the whole situation suspicious, the Avengers decide to proceed with caution and enter the war room of the mansion. There they run into other members of the Squadron Supreme: Lady Lark, Hawkeye, Tom Thumb, and American Eagle.
After a brief battle, the Avengers soon realize they aren't on their own world when the Squadron gets a message from their other teammates Dr. Spectrum, Hyperion, and Whizzer, explaining that they are launching a satellite called "Brain-Child One" into space. Realizing that the satellite is possibly what will doom this world, the Avengers try to explain the situation but soon find themselves in yet another battle with the Squadron, a battle that the Avengers quickly win.
They take one of the Squadron's ships and take Nighthawk with them to warn the other Squadron members of the danger that the satellite they're about to launch may pose their world.Appearing in ""Brain-Child to the Dark Tower Came...!""

Synopsis for ""Brain-Child to the Dark Tower Came...!""
When inquiring about who built the shuttle, Dr. Spectrum explains that it was created by a being named Brain-Child. The Brain-Child's parents were exposed to excessive amounts of radiation, that caused their child to have a great capacity for knowledge, and soon became the smartest being on the planet and was the mastermind behind the satellite that was supposed to defend the United States. Deciding that Brain-Child is a threat, the combined forces of the Avengers and the Squadron Supreme decide to stop the boy before he can attempt to destroy the Earth again.
Meanwhile, on the Avengers home reality, Thor and Black Panther seek the aid of Iron Man to help them locate their missing comrades, using the combined effort of Thor's hammer, and one of Tony Stark's machines.
While on the Squadron's Earth, the heroes attack the Brain-Child's citadel and find their attack countered by a bunch of creatures created by the Brain-Child's own mind. During the fight, Hyperion is knocked out, but Goliath uses him as an "arrow" to knock Brain-Child out of his control chair, causing his constructs to disappear. With the Brain-Child defeated, Dr. Spectrum uses his power spectrum to change the Brain-Child back into a normal boy.
Just as the Squadron and the Avengers claim victory, the Avengers have transported back to their own world thanks to Thor. There they explain their story to Thor and the Black Panther and leave to celebrate. The Vision stays behind to contemplate the idea of parallel worlds.
