History

The company co-founded by inventors and lifelong friends Obadiah Stane and Howard Stark, Stane/Stark Industries was the umbrella corporation that controlled the geopolitical region known as the North American Union, one of the seven sovereign bodies whose combined power governed the entire world. Because Howard was never interested in politics and only focused on his scientific researches to help society, Obadiah acted as the public face of the company.

Following a terrorist event that had been clandestinely orchestrated by the leaders of the other sovereign territories, the company's corporate headquarters were decimated alongside the apparent loss of the remaining heir, Anthony Stark, not long after the deaths of Obadiah and Howard. All assets were then taken over by the rival corporation, Oscorp Industries, with the CEOs, Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy, utilising their newly-obtained resources for their own objectives.
