History
Becoming Doctor Strange[]
Dr. Stephen Strange was a brilliant neurosurgeon and had a girlfriend, Dr. Christine Palmer. One day he picked up Christine for a night out for dinner, but ended up in a car accident that left Strange unharmed, but killed Christine.
After Christine's death, Strange, filled with grief, traveled the world in search of answers, where he met Ancient One and was trained in the mystic arts. Strange followed a fate similar to that of his Earth-199999 counterpart, such as the death of his teacher, stopping Dormammu from invading Earth, and becoming the Sorcerer Supreme, although he was unable to forget the past.
Corruption[]
Two years after Christine's death, Strange couldn't help but think of the past. Even though Wong suggested that he accompany him before he did anything rash, Strange mustered the courage to use the Eye of Agamotto to travel back in time before Palmer died, but despite his attempts to save Christine, his fate didn't seem to change. Shattered, Strange was visited by the Ancient One in the past, who explained to him that Christine's death was an "Absolute Point" in time, and that changing it would potentially end the universe, but a distraught Strange refused to let her go, forcing the Ancient One to try to stop him. During the conflict, the Ancient One split Doctor Strange's mind and body in two, one traveling centuries into the past, and the second half traveling the destined path he was destined to follow. Both halves of Strange would be oblivious to the existence of the other for the time being, coexisting simultaneously in the same timeline and universe.
Strange arrived centuries ago in time, meeting a fellow sorcerer named O'Bengh who led him to the Lost Library of Cagliostro. O'Bengh informed Strange that no sorcerer had ever changed an Absolute Point in time, but Strange refused to listen. Finally, Strange found that the only way to break the Absolute Point in time was to absorb other beings to increase his power. During his first attempt, he failed to absorb a tentacled creature that lent him its power, but then slowly did so on lesser creatures and then on others with more power. Strange was frozen in time for centuries as he continually absorbed these creatures' energies. After absorbing the tentacles of the tentacled creature he first encountered, Strange became unfrozen in time and soon encountered an aged and dying O'Bengh, who revealed that Strange had been consuming the entities' power for centuries. O'Bengh refused to receive Strange's help and told him about the existence of the other Strange in this universe, who had accepted Christine's death.
When reality began to crumble due to the presence of Strange Supreme after he unfroze from time, an echo of Ancient One contacted the other Strange to tell him that he must stop his dark version, who was going to break the Absolute Point. As the good Strange prepared to stop him, Strange Supreme brought his good version before him to convince him to become one again to bring back Christine, but was rejected by his good version, and the two wizards fought at the crash site of his car after Strange Supreme brought them there. Strange managed to break the protection spell that the good Strange had and absorbed it.
With all the power obtained, Strange used his powers to successfully resurrect Christine, but the universe began to disable itself because he broke the Absolute Point in time, so his universe began to crumble. While trying to keep him and Christine alive, Strange saw The Watcher and pleaded in vain to help him, willing to do anything to save the universe, but the Watcher refused, stating that any further interference with space and time would be disastrous.
His universe was destroyed in its entirety, but he managed to save himself by wrapping himself in a capsule using his magic. As Christine vanished in his arms, Strange questioned what he had done. In the end, Strange was the only survivor of his universe, and was left to tearfully apologize for the destruction he had caused. [1]
Some time later, Strange was physically visited by Uatu who sought him out to help him with a threat that endangers the Multiverse, Ultron.[3]
Age of Ultron[]
They assembled 5 different warriors from different timelines to form the Guardians of the Multiverse. With Captain Carter of Earth-82111, Star-Lord of Earth-21818, Killmonger of Earth-32938, Party Thor of Earth-72124 and Gamora of Earth-TRN908 now assembled, they formulated a plan to steal the Soul Stone from Ultron to power Gamora's Infinity Crusher and destroy his Infinity Stones.
They traveled to a planet and would wait until they were ready to attract Ultron. Stephen was having problems to contain his powers. When Carter asked what happened to him, he simply replied that it was the same thing that happened to her: love. While they toasted, Thor accidentally attracted Ultron's attention with a flash of lightning. With Ultron arriving, Strange used the same protection spell his other half used when they fought on himself and the others.
The Watcher activated a portal to send the Guardians to Ultron's reality. They fought briefly, until they managed to get the Soul Stone and then jump into the portal while Strange summoned Zombies of another universe to keep Ultron occupied.
Arriving, the Black Widow of that reality appeared and stole the Soul Gem, mistrustful of their intentions. As Captain Carter reasoned with her, as she knows a Black Widow in her dimension, Ultron arrived to reclaim the Soul Stone and kill them.
As he used the power of the Infinity Stones to create a massive explosion, Supreme Strange used the Eye of Agamotto to contain it and bizarrely ate the explosion, absorbing its power. After being cut in half by Gamora, Ultron used his own Time Stone to revert it and freeze time, and tried to reclaim the Soul stone, only for Doctor Strange to intervene and reveal his own Time Stone to unfreeze time. Using as much power as he could, he, Thor and the others finally subdued Ultron, while Gamora obtained the Soul Stone and used the Infinity Crusher on him.
Unfortunately, this proved pointless as, due to the uniqueness of each universe, the Infinity Crusher couldn't work on his Infinity Stones, only the ones of her universe.
As all their efforts proved pointless, instead Black Widow and Captain Carter used an arrow that contained the A.I. conscience of Arnim Zola, a plan Natasha and Hawkeye saved for Ultron until it was revealed he wasn't in their universe anymore. With their plain working successfully, Killmonger decided to claim the Stones' power for himself, only for Arnim Zola (in Ultron's body) to reveal himself, with both competing to claim the Stones' power.
Strange realizes they were never meant to win, and that the Watcher predicted everything. Both Arnim and Killmonger were sealed away in a pocket dimension, the containment staying with Doctor Strange in his prison reality. As the Watcher monologued on how dangerous it would be if they escaped, Strange replied he had "nothing but time" and "what are friends for?" as he looked to the pocket dimension on his hands.[4]
The Forge[]
Over time, Strange Supreme began capturing various heroes and villains from across the Multiverse and storing them in his Sanctum Infinitum, referring to these individuals as "Universe Killers". One of those was Kahhori, but she was somehow able to break free and escape to another universe.[5] In order to recapture her, Strange enlisted the help of his former teammate Captain Carter[6] and sent her to the world Kahhori was hiding on. After a brief fight between the two women, Strange teleported both of them back to his base, where he revealed his true intentions. He planned to sacrifice Kahhori and the other Universe Killers to The Forge, which was intended to resurrect his universe so he could be with Christine again. Horrified by his actions, Carter confronted Strange, demanding he come to his senses. He claimed that she would do the same thing for Steve, which she adamantly denied and stated Steve would not even want her to do that. To deter Strange's plans, Carter used her shield to break out all of the prisoners, causing a massive fight in the Sanctum Infinitum.
Strange would later engage Captain Carter and Kahhori in a very long battle, and the former was able to briefly knock the demons out of him using the Infinity Stones. During that moment, she tried to convince Strange to stop the Forge, but he said he couldn't since his grief had grown beyond his control. His demons then entered him again and bloodlusted him to kill Carter, and they fought hand-to-hand for a few seconds before falling off the platform. Despite this, Strange was able to regain control and sacrifice himself to the Forge, successfully restoring his universe but causing him to never be born into it.[2]Attributes
