History
Steve Englehart was a writer for Marvel Comics, a company that is licensed to write comic books based on the super-heroes that live in their world.
Steve joined his co-workers Roy Thomas, his wife Jean, Gerry Conway, Len Wein, and his wife Glynis on a road trip to Rutland, Vermont, for their annual Halloween parade. On the way there they had a brief encounter with the mutant hero known as the Beast and the avatar of destruction known as the Juggernaut.[1] As they arrived in town, they crossed over into a distant cosmos where they witnessed the Justice League of America battle their foe Felix Faust, who stole Englehart's car.[2] Crossing back over to their home reality, they later witnessed the thunder god Thor battle Loki and the Absorbing Man.[3] Eventually they crossed paths with the Beast one more time before returning home to New York.[1]
He eventually began writing the exploits of the Fantastic Four a few years later under the alias John Harkness. Near the end of his tenure as a writer he was visited by Franklin Richards, son of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman. Franklin appealed to "John" to set the record straight after the Fantastic Four's reputations were tarnished by clones created by Aron the Rogue Watcher. "John" told Franklin that he would see what he could do.[4]
