History
Presumably, the life of Steven Rogers mirrored that of his Earth-616 counterpart before the outbreak of the zombie plague. When the outbreak began, Captain America continued to fight against the Nazi threat until he had nothing left to give. When he fell in battle, Miss America picked up his shield in order to continue to fight for what he believed in.[1]
The zombified Red Skull took the Captain's body and stored it in his own commercial-sized refrigerator, eating it a piece at a time. The Captain's body was discovered by the Ducky Dozen when they ran into the refrigerator to use it as a vehicle to return to Earth-616. Once back home, the group left the fridge, unaware of Captain America opening his eyes.[2]Paraphernalia
