History

Years ago, the Skrulls considered using humans in their war effort against the Kree and set out to create a more battle-ready man. Genetic engineering at its finest.

They tried and tried with varying degrees of success, but eventually had to abandon their plan. Human beings proved too willful, they couldn't be conditioned to follow orders and definitely couldn't be trusted.

But there was one great success, and they brought him into the Games. He is the Game's reigning gladiatorial champion and the Skrulls love him, they call him the Captain.

The Captain was pitted out against Mimic; the Skrulls were expecting an exciting fight, but they were disappointed when Mimic won the fight by firing one optic blast- a power that he had concealed from his captors in his previous bouts until the time was right- at the Captain at the beginning of the fight.

When Terrax arrived on Earth, he caused a power failure which allowed the superheroes to escape, the Captain included. During the fight with Galactus, the Captain and a group of other heroes attempted to attack Galactus, yet they were no match. Galactus, annoyed by them trying to damage his machine, got rid of the group with one look. The Captain died while the other heroes presumably were brought to the infirmary afterwards and, after Galactus was driven of, they started rebuilding their world after a century of slavery by the Skrulls.[1]
