History

Steve Rogers was a US Army Private, and one of the four subjects for the SSR's Project Rebirth. He was heavily hurt during the operation's sabotage caused by Nazi double-agents.

He survived and later illustrated Captain America comics written by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. However, after Captain America returned, it was revealed the stories produced had been coming to Steve in his dreams and that Captain America was experiencing these dreams in her adventures across the Multiverse. When Steve was 96 Sam visited him in his hospital bed, where the two caught up.
