When Maestro first conquered the Sakaar region of Primary Earth, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Bruce Banner, Jim Rhodes and Valkyrie organized a revolt against his tyrannical rule. Unfortunately, it in disaster. Using a gladiatorial control disk, Maestro temporarily took control of the Hulk, making him lose control and kill Tony. The rest were devastated and abandoned the cause, retreating into seclusion across different corners of Sakaar. Captain America faked submission to Maestro by agreeing to train gladiators for his arena games, while in truth secretly preparing an army for the future rebellion.
