Synopsis for "Part 2: Storm's Seven"
Storm recounts the events from the end of Sins of Sinister #1. The Quiet Council revealed they were infected with Sinister's X-Gene and Destiny told her to delay going to war with Krakoa. The Arakkii forces then gathered and defended Arakko but they were defeated and Arakko was blown up, leaving an asteroid belt. The surviving Arakkii are scattered across space, living as refugees or mercenaries. From a base hidden within one of the asteroids, Storm leads a the Brotherhood of Mutants, a group of five other Arakii dedicated to continuing the fight against Sinister - Cable, Khora, Wiz Kid, Ironfire, and Quick. At the base, Storm chides Destiny for telling her to wait, wondering if Arakko had struck first the outcome would have been different. Storm questions whether Destiny’s prediction was simply wrong or if she was planning their demise. Storm also wonders if Destiny is actually there, and Ironfire stabs her, revealing it was a camouflaged Mystique. Mystique tells Storm of Sinister’s Moira lab and his save points and offers them a mission. If they destroy the facility and kill the Moira clone, they reset the timeline and avoid the tragedies of the current timeline. Storm accepts the mission.
The group arrives at Muir Island with Mystique. Wiz Kid supplies Mystique with guns that cannot be used on a Brotherhood member. The island is defended by Maggot-Marrow chimeras. Cable, Khora, Quick, and Mystique fight the chimeras while Storm, Wiz Kid, and Ironfire look for the Moira lab underground. They find the lab but it is encased in an impenetrable spherical living force field. Storm and Ironfire engage more chimeras while Wiz Kid works on cracking the force field. Wiz Kid tosses some hexagonal discs towards the sphere while Storm notes that she had not seen Wiz Kid use that type of tech before. Up top, Quick realizes that Mystique is not actually with them. Below, Wiz Kid teleports the entire lab away, but Wiz Kid is actually Mystique and she stabs Storm and quickly teleports away. Ironfire tends to a wounded Storm, who vows to find Mystique.
At the World Farm, Destiny gloats over the success of their plan. Storm and her team took out Sinister’s defenses while Mystique took out the Brotherhood. Destiny assumes Storm is dead. Destiny also notes that if Storm hadn’t undertaken the mission that allowed Mystique to steal the Moira lab, the timeline would have reset, as Sinister would have had access to the lab. Destiny knows that the Quiet council will soon vote against Sinister [1]. We learn that Orbis Stellaris organized the theft of the lab. He knows why he didn’t want the timeline reset, but is curious as to why Destiny wants to live in this timeline. She responds that in this world, Mystique is alive. Orbis Stellaris ends by saying that “there can only be one who has dominion.”
