The publishing history of Strange Tales is itself a bit strange. After issue #168 (in 1968), the series was re-titled Doctor Strange (who had been the focus of the horror- and mystery-themed book since his appearance in issue 110) and numbering continued from #169 to #183. In 1974, Marvel started Doctor Strange over from #1, and at the same time resumed publishing Strange Tales, beginning at #169 and continuing through #188. Those issues are found here. The Nick Fury stories of issues #146 to #155 were later reprinted in S.H.I.E.L.D.
