The publishing history of Strange Tales is itself a bit strange. After issue Strange Tales #168 (in 1968), the series was re-titled Doctor Strange (who had been the focus of the horror- and mystery-themed book since his appearance in issue Strange Tales #110) and numbering continued from Doctor Strange #169 to Doctor Strange #183. In 1974, Marvel started Doctor Strange over from 1, and at the same time resumed publishing Strange Tales, beginning at Strange Tales #169 and continuing through Strange Tales #188. Those issues are found here. The Nick Fury stories of issues Strange Tales #146 to Strange Tales #155 were later reprinted in S.H.I.E.L.D.
