Synopsis for "Tales of Atlantis!"
Almost 20,000 years prior to Namor's reign, Atlantis still existed above the surface. Emperor Kamuu leads the city's defense against the raiding Lemurians. In order to defeat them, he releases magma from the earth below, but in so doing, destroys the Sea Wall, and dooms Atlantis to sink beneath the waves.
Notes
- Not sure why pre-diluvian Atlanteans have blue skin...
- A letter printed in the letters page of Sub-Mariner (Vol. 2) #66 asked a similar question. The editorial reply was that Kamuu and Zartra were blue-skinned for "the most ridiculous reason of all: a colorist’s error that we simply did not catch until we saw the proofs of the first Tales of Atlantis story – at which time it was too late to change the second episode!"
- The "Tales of Atlantis!" story was scripted by Steve Gerber but plotted by Howard Chaykin.
