History
When M.O.D.O.K. set up a base of operations in Lingares in order to contain Ultimo, he detonated a nuclear bomb that managed to temporarily make the giant robot vulnerable. Using the same radioactive signatures from the blast, M.O.D.O.K. designed the Subatomic Outgoing Broad-Isotope Gun.
After crossing paths with Force Works, M.O.D.O.K. joined forces with them to take down Ultimo, and outfitted War Machine's armor with the Subatomic Outgoing Broad-Isotope Gun since the suit's arc reactor was the only source of power strong enough to power the device in the entire island. Force Works subsequently engaged Ultimo, and War Machine used the Subatomic Outgoing Broad-Isotope Gun to blast off the robot's head, draining all of his armor of power.
M.O.D.O.K. usurped Ultimo's beheaded body and attacked Force Works, dubbing himself UltiM.O.D.O.K. Even though War Machine managed to use a generator to jump-star his armor's arc reactor, the suit needed to be at 94% of power to make use of the Subatomic Outgoing Broad-Isotope Gun. When Quake donned the War Machine Armor to confront UltiM.O.D.O.K., she tried to stall until the armor had enough charge, but the villain was eventually defeated without the use of the Subatomic Outgoing Broad-Isotope Gun.[1]Trivia
- The initials of this weapon spell out "S-O-B-I-G" ("So big").
