S.M.A.S.H. is a team composed of Hulks created to help the Incredible Hulk in dealing various threats. The purpose of the formation of the team is to help Hulk in being recognized not as a monster but a true hero to the world including becoming a family.

• It is addressed upon the group's formation that S.M.A.S.H., despite its title, does not actually stand for anything, being a name thought up by Rick Jones on the justification that it didn't matter what it stood for since no one would argue with the Hulks.
