History

Sybyl Dorn is one of the Brethren, a race of alien creatures created by Celestials on the planet Omega Climion Six from low-level bacterial life forms.[1] Unaware of their own origins, the Brethren believed to be a pure and highly-elevated species. This inspired their mission of colonizing other worlds to genetically cleanse them. As an efficient fighter and warrior, Sybyl Dorn was the right hand of Thane Ector, the leader of her group. Even though she helped the Brethren destroy thousands of worlds, she also demonstrated compassion Thane Ector did not have when it came to their interactions with other creatures. At some point, Thane Ector's squad, including Sybyl Dorn, were captured by the Collector. They managed to escape and arrive on Earth, where they immediately started a plan to conquer it.[2] Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers, posited an opposition.[3] The Brethren erected a citadel and raided the planet with their army. In this context, Sybyl Dorn found herself challenged by the Avenger Sersi, with whom Ector had become obsessed with. She was tormented by Ector's minion, Fool, about her desperation.[4] Sybyl Dorn personally attacked Sersi and attempted to consume her. Thane Ector himself stopped her attempt,[5] causing Sybyl Dorn to mobilize the Brethren to depose Thane Ector by accusing him of treason for his actions and alliance with Sersi. Realizing the Avengers worked alongside the Collector, the Brethren turned against them.[6] In fact, the Collector had freed the Brethren on purpose, to weaken Earth for him to acquire it as a prize. Sybyl Dorn proved her loyalty to Thane Ector as he was attacked by the Collector, who exposed the truth about the Brethren being bacterial creatures. The revelation was not enough to break her devotion. However, she became a target of the Collector, who reduced her to her primal state as a mere mindless germ. The destabilized Brethren forced a Uni-Mind to stop the Collector, but that led to extermination of their species.[1]
