History
Synth was one of those who rebelled against Umar.[1] She was also a member of the rebel council who advised their leader, Clea.[2]
Synth was part of the mission to secretly kidnap Umar's captain of the guard, Orini, during which she and a male rebel were captured and brought before Umar. After they both refused to talk and proved to have psyche-shields that prevented them from being mentally compelled to speak against the rebellion, Umar, as Clea had predicted, ordered them to be thrown to the Mindless Ones. Once Captain Orini had opened a warp in the barrier, a third rebel (a disguised Rahl) attacked the other two guards, giving Orini a chance to shove the two captives through the warp. Rahl then jumped at Orini with enough force to propel them both through the warp as well. As the barrier sealed itself, the other guards saw all four being overwhelmed by the Mindless Ones and left to report back to Umar, unaware of the fact that those Mindless Ones were merely an illusion cast by Clea.[3]
Synth later led a mission to ambush some royal guardsmen in a village marketplace. However, it turned out to be a double-trap as they were themselves ambushed by more guards. Unable to fight back effectively against the guards who were empowered by power wands, Synth was captured and recognized as one of the rebels who had been thrown to the Mindless Ones. When an Outcast intervened and freed her, the guards turned all their attention on him, enabling the rebels to recover and help the Outcast. Once the guards had been defeated, the rebels made them forget that they had ever seen Synth, then they fled from the village, unaware that the measures they were taking to avoid being followed were not effective against that Outcast. After using the warp in Saftur's cellar to get far away from the village, Synth mentioned that she feared that the ambush meant that someone may have informed on them. After returning to the rebel stronghold, Synth went to report to Clea and Rahl on how her mission had gone wrong and about the intervention by the Outcast. Seconds later, that Outcast made his presence known and revealed himself to be Doctor Stephen Strange and stated that he had come to aid the rebellion.[1]
Synth was part of a rebel council meeting at which it was agreed that the rebellion was at an impasse and needed more information on Umar's troop movements before they could plan effectively. When Clea stated that she would try again to probe the mind of their prisoner, Myrra pointed out that she hadn't had much luck in cracking Captain Orini's psychic shields and suggested that maybe she should let someone else try. Synth agreed that Myrra had a point and mentioned that, although none of them were quite her equal, they also weren't related to Orini. Clea was upset by the implication that she might have been going easy on their prisoner because he was her father but Strange suggested that she might have a subconscioous block that was preventing her from probing her father's mind as deeply as she would have liked. Later, after Strange had used the Eye of Agamotto to reveal all of the secrets that Orini had been hiding, Synth was present with Clea and the rest of the council when Strange revealed the shocking fact that Umar was Clea's mother.[2]Attributes
