Synopsis for "Gwen's Birthday ( L'anniversaire de Gwen)"
Spider-Man (Peter Parker) swings to Greenwich Village to get Gwen Stacy a birthday present, he changes back into his civilian outfit and visits Timothy Huxley's shop. He had requested a gift from Huxley who jokingly scolds Peter for being late and asks if he wants to open it now. Peter takes the gift (a clock Gwen wanted) and leaves saying he trusts Tim. Meanwhile Gwen is anxious that Peter will not show up and is comforted by her father. Peter is walking back and contemplates becoming Spider-Man to travel the city faster when the present is snatched from him by three crooks in their car. They open the package and it explodes, preumably killing them and destroying their car. Peter dons his Spider-Man costume and returns to Huxley. J. Jonah Jameson heard the explosion and went to investigate, seeing Spider-Man leaves, he believe that Spider-Man was behind the explosion he calls the paper to run his next headline.
Spider-Man returns to Huxley and overhears him talking to the man who hired Huxley, Abraxas. Abraxas wanted Spider-Man out of the way so he could conquer New York and ultimately the entire world. Huxley reveals he assisted because he believed Spider-Man to be evil which is why he agreed to assist Abraxas and questions whether Peter was really involved. Huxley begins to turn on Abraxas when he realizes that Abraxas cares for no one but himself. Hearing enough, Spider-Man bursts throw the window and confronts Abraxas. However, Abraxas was able to over power Spider-Man as Abraxas could seemingly read minds and foresee all of Spider-Man's attacks. Huxley attempted to flee and get the police, however was caught by Abraxas and knocked into the garbage. Spider-Man attempted to clear his mind so Abraxas couldn't predict his next move but failed, Huxley tried to sneak up behind Abraxas and attack with a stick. Abraxas however realized and attempted to kill Huxley. Finally gave Spider-Man the opportunity to web up Abraxas. However, he was interupted by the arrival of the police. Spider-Man didn't think they would believe his story and so he took the injured Huxley and fled while Abraxas also escaped.
Back with Gwen, she is distraught Peter never showed, but her father attempts to comfort her. Meanwhile after having dropped off Huxley to be treated for his injuries he is telepathically sent a message by Abraxas they will meet again soon.
