Naming Conventions[]

On the Character Pages subsection of the Article Pages section in the Naming Conventions page, it's said:

  • If the real name is not known:
    • Name consists of the most well known (or latest) codename and the partial real name (or alias) in parenthesis. The most well-known codename is better than most recent codename, and real name is better than alias, even if it less complete.

Since Elder's full name wasn't revealed and his codename already includes his surname (thus making the use of the partial real name in parenthesis unnecessary), this page's name should be Agent Elder (Earth-616), not just Elder (Earth-616).

Another option would be "Elder (S.H.I.E.L.D.) (Earth-616)," but that's pretty wonky. -- Annabell (talk) 21:20, February 12, 2017 (UTC)
I agree moving the page is unnecesssary. As far as I recall, characters like this one are named "Agent XXXXX (Earth-616)"

But again, not everyone, so no consistency at all...--Anonymous_668c2d1bdfa019.27212429 (talk) 22:15, February 12, 2017 (UTC)
That doesn't change the fact that we should follow what was already established in the Naming Conventions. If other users didn't follow them while creating their pages, then said pages are the ones that should be renamed, not pages like this one that do follow them.

And the policy, such as it's written, is open to much subjectivity, as Elder is this character's real name, while Agent is not a codename, but a rank within his organization...--Anonymous_668c2d1bdfa019.27212429 (talk) 23:08, February 12, 2017 (UTC)
In that case, I believe the matter should be brought up to discussion instead of deciding on your own what should be the norm.
