Digitized Consciousness[]

Secret Empire #6 established that this "A.I." is the actual digitized consciousness of Tony Stark. Should this article be merged with the main one? DCLover1995 (talk) 01:22, August 11, 2017 (UTC)

Even though it can be argued the dialogue is open to interpretation, what is mentioned in Secret Empire #6 doesn't necessarily contradict the established nature of the A.I. per Invincible Iron Man.
Cap comments that Tony "downloaded [his] actual consciousness into this... A.I. matrix," which doesn't mean the A.I. is Tony, but a download of Tony's actual mind. Cap prefaces this mentioning he originally believed the A.I. to be a simulation, this would imply it's an A.I. programmed into emulating Tony Stark's personality, whereas this A.I. consists of Tony's human though process and emotions digitalized. I think Cap was more or less making this distinction.
And even if the dialogue is interpreted the other way, it's worth taking into account this apparent confirmation that digi-Tony is the real Tony comes from Captain America recounting the findings of Arnim Zola, a person not familiar with the A.I.. Meanwhile, in the pages of Invincible Iron Man there is no doubt this A.I. is not the real Tony Stark. This distinction goes to the point in Invincible Iron Man (Vol. 3) #7, the A.I. talks about his flesh-and-bones self in third person.

It could have been a deception on his part. DCLover1995 (talk) 02:19, August 11, 2017 (UTC)
A deception on A.I. Tony's part? It wouldn't make sense for him to lie about his true nature to his closest allies. And if anything, it'd make more sense if he lied and pretended to be the real Tony Stark rather than the other way round. If you want to consider Rogers' comments on Zola's findings as confirmation that digi-Tony is the real Tony, it makes more sense that Nick Spencer is wrong instead of Brian Michael Bendis (the creator of A.I. Tony), who presented that interpretation through the character himself in the book where he is a supporting character.
(Also, please don't remove the paragraph breaks again)
