Universe Designation

Infinite is a reboot of the franchise- should it be given a new universe designation to make it distinct from the previous games? The story mode directly establishes that this does not exist within the same continuity as the previous games. TheRazorSlash (talk) 21:26, November 22, 2017 (UTC)

If that's the case, then the MvCI material would need to be separated into a new TRN. MysteryScooby (talk) 19:58, November 22, 2017 (UTC)
How does it establish that it's different than the previous games? For one, Marvel Appendix has the events listed on MvC Spider-Man's page, and I don't recall anything in the story mode that claims that this isn't the same reality. Zakor1138 (talk) 04:07, November 23, 2017 (UTC)
Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I recall Jedah and Death implying the universes have never met before in the story mode. I also recall Capcom referring to Infinite as a reboot in marketing. TheRazorSlash (talk) 01:07, November 25, 2017 (UTC)
Having just now rewatched that scene, there was nothing in their conversation that implies the two universes never meeting beforehand. And it's best not to trust Capcom in marketing, after all, most people know who the X-Men is? Zakor1138 (talk) 01:33, November 25, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, true. Alright, my mistake then, must've remembered wrong. TheRazorSlash (talk) 02:21, November 25, 2017 (UTC)
Memories are never 100% reliable. I remember stuff wrong all the time, so don't feel bad. Zakor1138 (talk) 03:02, November 25, 2017 (UTC)
