Possible power?
In an issue of X-Factor, Vol. 1 Quicksilver was shown to be rapidly reading books, and actually being bored by it. Presumably, this suggests he has heightened cognitive capacities such as information processing, possibly memory, and IQ. Have things like this involving his cognitive prowess ever been shown in other issues, or have they actually proven useful? -- Divisionbyzer0 05:49, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- I don't remember him doing it anywhere else, but it's interesting to think about. He certainly would have to process information faster than most people, and any other speedster would too, since they need to make turns or stop before running into things. Maybe he doesn't remember what he reads when he's going that fast, but is more like skimming the material.
- I wouldn't think his memory or IQ would necessarily be affected, since just because you read something doesn't mean you remember it completely.

- My take is that Pietro is the ultimate speed reader. He can read an entire book without skimming in seconds. This does not mean he retains that knowledge any better or worse than the rest of us. He can process the data quickly, but he can't repeat the entire novel word for word when he done. He's just like us, only at an accelerated rate.--Max 05:39, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback. A creative author could actually make accelerated information processing quite useful. Especially if it could be used in domains of technical reasoning, and say forge or the beast weren't around. Imagine if he learned computer science or cryptography. He could make the ultimate hacker / computer expert, but such fields require probably above average intellect, tho if memory serves his Int was a 3 on the marvel universe cards which is above average iirc. I guess we leave technical domains to forge who doesn't really need the accelerated reasoning since his is intuitively psionic or some such. - In Fatal Attractions, when Wolverine got his adamantium pulled out of him by Magneto, Quicksilver was piloting the Blackbird back to Earth. Cyclops deliberately put him in the pilot's seat because he assumed that the Blackbird's computer would be damaged and Pietro could manually handle the calculations to land them safely.
- Sounds like heightened cognitive abilities to me...

- Interesting. I was about to suggest piloting and navigation as a possible application. This supports my notion fully. Do you recall which issue that was in? X-Men #25? I'll have to go over that one again. To my mind this example supports adding "cognitive abilities and information processing capabilities which extends beyond that of a normal human" or something to this effect to his list of powers. - Actually, I take it back. After quickly reading the comics, it was Wolverine (Vol. 2) #75 and it was Bishop who asked him to take over the seat. Rogue stood by amazed but even commented how Pietro was the best one for the job since it was fly by the seat of your pants type of job. --M1shawhan 04:35, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

- Yes, it's been revealed Wanda and Pietro were Django and Marya's children all along. Now I've cleaned up their pages regarding any mention of Magneto being their true parent. I hope somebody a bit more expert on the twins' history could include their search for their true parentage, and that they temporarily thought the Wizzer was their father, etc.
