difference rock trolls/Trolls of asgard

can someone clarify the difference between the Rock Trolls and the Trolls of Asgard to me? Are they actually the same race that simply has two pages? (Just so there's no confusion: I left this message on both articles. hoping to increase the chance of getting a response...)--edkaufman 22:12, December 16, 2009 (UTC)

The Trouble With Trolls

Trolls of Asgard appear to be Rock Trolls, i.e. mostly skin, little mammalic hair. Loki has a preference for Rock Trolls as allies as he let them inhabit the Royal Palace during his brief reign (See Thor #194). However, there are also Forrest Trolls, who of course live in wooded areas, and are hairy. For the record, indexes as early as the Olshevky 70's project recognize Forrest Trolls. I would propose that all Trolls be classified/tagged as "Trolls" as they appear to be from the same species, much like a human is still a human, and a Cotati is a Cotati (whether they can walk, can't walk, are further mutated, etc.) and editors would make a note of specific characteristics of Trolls as needed, "Forrest", "Rock", "Giant", "Mutant", etc. Right now the only race(?) category for Trolls is this one: Rock Trolls.

here's more to the confusion: I just stumbled across an issue (Thor somewhere around 200, I'll have to double check) where Pluto shows up with an army of Trolls that obviously aren't from Asgard, but from Hades - another page yet?--edkaufman (talk) 18:38, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

Ed and all, Excellent Point and the Army of Trolls from Hades also reappear in Thor #222, and then there is Nestor (Troll) (Earth-616) a Troll who is submerged in water. Ole Nestor is also a servant of Pluto. I have listed all Trolls: Rock, Forest, or Servants of Hades as Rock Trolls and put some notes and references at the bottom of the pages. Maybe its like Junior High, any creeping entity you don't like, you refer to as a "Troll". I think some mean girls even referenced me as one!

Seriously, any disambiguation and dialouge is welome on this subject as Ed and I journey through Thor Vol 1 of the 1960's and 70's.

Soooo... I finally managed to make my way to aforementioned Thor #222. Have we made up our minds yet? Are the Hades Trolls the same race as the Asgardian Ones? --edkaufman (talk) 11:32, March 10, 2014 (UTC)

Read Notes Above on Troll Talk

I didn't post properly, just edited Ed's post (and Ed needs no editing).
