Name[]

Is the '(film)' aspect of the title really necessary? I realize that's the general naming convention, but I hardly believe there would be any confusion between this film and any other body of work.

I don't know if it would be confused with 'Wolverine: Origins' comic book name, so that's why i put (film) in the title.BA$ 02:23, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
There IS going to be a game to accompany the movie. Same name as the movie. And there's going to be an X-Men Origins - Wolverine comic in the X-Men Origins line. Comes out in April.

Characters[]

At the end , I was expecting one more screem, when Wolverines's DNA was preparing to create his clone (X-23).- The preceding unsigned comment was added by SF (talk • contribs).

Deadpool![]

Deadpool doesn't Die in Origins, WATCH THE AFTER CREDITS SCENE!

I recently watched the film a couple of times, and I noticed that there were two different post credits scenes!

There is an extra scene after the credits that shows Wolverine at a bar in Japan drinking shots of whiskey. After asking for another shot, the Japanese bartender asks him if he is American. Wolverine responds, “Canadian… I think.” She then asks if he’s drinking to forget and he replies, “No. I’m drinking to remember.” This is in reference to the end of the movie where Stryker shoots Wolverine in the head with a adamantium bullet that erases his memory. This is an hint for "The Wolverine" which is planned to be in Japan. God I hope Daken will be involved!

The other post-credits scene zooms in on head, and then his hand grasps his head and his eyes pop open. Deadpool’s mouth has broken free and glaring with a knowing sparkle in his eye at the camera, he simply says, “SHHH…” as the camera cuts to black. This is probably an hint for "Deadpool", which we have heard about :D NathanLuxe 00:55, May 16, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for adding this info. Yeah, we should have gotten it up sooner.

New universe[]

The film Days of Future Past destroyed the universe Earth-10005 and created/replaced it with Earth-TRN414. Presumably TRN414 follows the exact same timeline as 10005 up until those days in 1973.

So does this mean the weird story about Wolverine and Sabretooth being stepbrothers and killing each other's fathers is canon in both universes. And is the opening sequence showing them fighting in all the wars also canon? If it is, it creates continuity errors with The Wolverine movie and Days of Future Past (i.e. Wolverine was captured by the Japanese during World War II and did not fight in Vietnam in 1973).

I would just like to be clarified. Wookieedude12 (talk) 03:54, June 1, 2016 (UTC)

Well, everything leading up to the montage in X-Men Origins: Wolverine is definitely canon in the Earth-TRN414 timeline (since it happens over a hundred years before Days of Future Past, so it would completely be unaffected). Wolverine and Sabretooth fighting in the American Civil War, World War I and World War II is also canon. The Wolverine doesn't really contradict this. Origins establishes he fought in World War II, while The Wolverine just details a moment when he is captured and saves a soldier's life from the Nagasaki bomb. He could have easily reunited with Victor not long after that. I mean, it's established in X-Men: First Class that he wasn't accompanied by Victor his whole life (see: Wolverine's cameo in a bar alone).
His participation in the Vietnam war is ambiguous because of the timeline change happening in Days of Future Past around the same time. The United States entered the Vietnam war around 1965, and that's assumedly around the time when Logan joined the war with Victor as well, given his military service background and his affinity for participating in wars for his country. Anyways, it's safe to assume he did fight in Vietnam for a time. However, he eventually left the war and became a bodyguard for a mob boss' daughter (as seen in Days of Future Past). One thing for sure is that the scene where Victor tries raping a Vietnamese woman and his and Logan's subsequent imprisonment is not canon anymore, because that obviously led to him being recruited by Stryker and joining the Team X in Origins.
So in the new timeline it's X-Men Origins childhood opening -> American Civil War -> World War I and World War II (including The Wolverine Nagasaki bomb scene) -> First Class cameo -> Vietnamese war for a time -> Bodyguard for mob boss' daughter -> Days of Future Past -> X-Men: Apocalypse scene

Ok, thanks! Wookieedude12 (talk) 03:36, June 6, 2016 (UTC)

Hctz?[]

Kayla Silverfox fakes her death with ordinary prescription HCTZ? Wow, I had no idea my blood pressure meds could fool someone with Logan’s senses... Eschiss1 (talk) 03:19, July 15, 2019 (UTC) (I wasn’t positive this was transcribed accurately from the film. Now that I am- what were they thinking?)

Earth-?[]

With all those listed inconsistencies (plus Victor and Sabretooth), are we sure this is happening on Earth-10005? —-MissRatbat (talk) 02:14, 8 February 2022 (UTC)

Yes. Inconsistencies don't automatically decanonize a story from its canon.
