History
The early life of Tandy Bowen largely mirrors that of her Earth-616 counterpart.
After the mutation of humanity, and the death of the Celestial embryo within Earth, an aged Tandy lived as a homeless vagrant, the guardian of her old partner Tyrone Johnson's cloak. Despite her best attempts to prevent the cloak from swallowing others into the Realm of the Dead, Tandy at times could not stop it from doing so. When accosted by a gang of thugs trying to steal the cloak, believing it was a blanket, the cloak swallowed them, leaving Tandy despondent.[1]
She was comforted by Mar-Vell, who had come to claim the cloak and relieve Tandy of her burden. He told her that Tyrone had crossed over into the realm of death, and spoke of her beauty to any who would listen. Handing over the cloak, Tandy transformed into her light form and walked away, at peace at last.[1]
