Teacher was the surrogate father of Bloodhawk and an old friend of his father. Bloodhawk's father experimented on his own son while still a fetus in order to push evolutionary boundaries, resulting in a bird-like humanoid child. The mother died during delivery and the father, unable to deal with the horror he had created, left his son in care of the teacher. The unnamed man brought him to Muara, a remote island in the Pacific Ocean, out of safety. Here the birdman was often locked in a cage.
Years later, when Bloodhawk was grown, they together urgently traveled to American Museum of Natural History in an attempt to retrieve a magical totem that was stolen from the island. They needed the artifact due to supernatural forces threatening to devour their precious home, as the totem would be able to neutralize the threat. In the museum, Bloodhawk ended up fighting the Avengers, but his teacher was able quell the tension, and at the Avengers Mansion he told the superheroes of their plight. This convinced the Avengers, to send a small entourage with the duo. When they arrived, however, the altar of the totem was revealed to have been an alien giant Monolith all along.
After a prolonged battle with the giant, Beast managed to climb up the Monolith and shut down the creature while Thor used Mjolnir to send the Monolith to another galaxy. Beast convinced the duo to come with them, offering to bring Bloodhawk to Professor X, former teacher of Beast. This meeting never took place, however, when upon their return to the mansion, they found the rest of the team held hostage by Stinger. In their ensuing fight, Bloodhawk gave his life to save Thor, leaving the teacher all alone.
His current whereabouts are unknown.
