More than a friend, Teddy Rangel mentored me my first year on the force. He had my back. He was my "rabbi." Everything I am today, I owe to that man. 
History
Detective Teddy Rangel mentored Yuriko Watanabe during her first year as a member of the NYPD. He wasn't a big fan of doing things "by the book."
Teddy received a tip from Mister Negative on a hideout of Tombstone, but was critically injured during a resulting shoot-out when the police surrounded the base. He slipped into a coma and died while hospitalized.[1]See Also
