History
The Ten were the sons of Cleito (daughter of Leucippe and Evenor), and of Poseidon, god of the seas, who had claimed the patronage of Atlantis.[3]
The Ten were the ten first Atlantean kings,[3] ten gods ruling their provinces and overseen by their mother-goddess Cleito from the City of the Golden Gate.[4] The Ten were known in legends as "crowned saints". In this golden age, Atlantis was not a single but ten kingdom, with the City of the Golden Gate as their capital.[1] Evenor was one of the autochthons, primeval quasi-deities,[4] "offspring of the soil"),[5] which were said to have helped the land of Atlantis by their presence. The Ten ruled in the centuries between the Age of Kull (18,500 BC) and the Great Cataclysm (18,000 BC).[4]Notes
- The sons of Cleito and Poseidon were mentioned in Critias by Plato, including Atlas, King of Atlantis, only mentioned as a great king of Atlantis in Atlas' profile's in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z Update #1, but not as son of Cleito and Poseidon.
