History
The Ten Rings was a terrorist organization in the Middle-East who obtained Stark weaponry which they used to capture Tony Stark (resulting in shrapnel from a bomb being stuck in his chest. They kept him imprisoned in a cave to have him make more weapons, however Tony planned his escape when he designed his first ever armor.
