Texas is the second-largest state in the United States of America in both size and population. Geographically located in the South Central region of the country.

18th century

Spanish Empire

The Spanish originally settled in the region that would one day be known as Texas. It became part of the Spanish Empire.

19th century

Texas Revolution

In 1835 A.D., the Texas Revolution began when American colonists in the Mexican province of Texas rebelled. In 1836 A.D.,General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna led the Mexican army into Texas and participated in what became the legendary Battle of the Alamo. [1] Became a state on December 29, 1845.

Mexican–American War

In 1846 A.D., Mexican–American War began an armed conflict between the United States of America and Mexico it lasted until 1848. After the was the US gained California and New Mexico as states.[2]

The earliest recorded hero active in the state of the Texas during the Frontier was explorer Billy Buckskin who was active during the days of the American-Mexican War circa the 1840s. The young adventurer primarily fought Mexican soldiers, outlaws, and Native American renegades around Fort Ironsides, primarily the warrior known as Nocona who was responsible for murdering his father.[3] The next oldest was Dan Hawk whose father died during the Battle of the Alamo while he was still a young man. Growing up to adulthood he became known as the Kid From Texas and operated as a honorary Texas Ranger helping those in need.[4]

State of Texas

In later years Texas was the the centre point of many conflicts involving almost every famous gun-slinging hero that was active during the times. Such as the Masked Raider, Kid Colt, Black Rider, the Outlaw Kid at least two heroes calling themselves the Texas Kid among others. In addition the state was protected by the Texas Rangers such as Major Cullen, Captain Cliff Macklin, Happy Hicks and their scout the Arizona Kid.[5]

20th century

Following the dawn of the original Age of Heroes, various wartime heroes were active in the state of Texas. The earliest recorded one being the Human Torch who prevented Martian invasion.[6] For more details about adventures that took place in specific locations, please refer to the City Index.

During the war, the Wild Cat Oil Company, located in Texas, was secretly taken over by Imperial Japanese spies known as the Black Dragon Society. Using the companies resources they smuggled oil out of Texas and into Japan to help the war effort there. This plot was exposed by the Human Torch and his partner Toro.[7]

Modern Age

Following his visions, Rikichi landed at San Antonio International Airport.[8]

While in San Antonio Firebrand VI was causing trouble, an unknown company hired Deadpool, along with Copycat (as a sock-puppet), to kill him.[9] Deadpool succeeded in doing so, but not without Firebrand managing to burn his sock-puppet, making Deadpool distraught.[9]
