Notes
- Julia Louis-Dreyfus debuts as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in this episode. Louis-Dreyfus was initially intended to debut as the character in the film Black Widow, before the film's release date was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[1]
Trivia
- The episode's title is derived from the title of the limited series Truth: Red, White & Black, which introduced and is centered around the character of Isaiah Bradley.
- Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine's first line is: "Well, these boots are not made for walkin'". This is a reference to the Nancy Sinatra song "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'".
- Isaiah references the "Red Tails, the famous 332", which is a reference to the real-life Tuskegee Airmen, a group of all African-American military pilots who fought in World War II. This is also a direct reference to the real-life Tuskegee Experiments, which served as the inspiration for Isaiah Bradley's story in the comics.
- Sam says "all day, baby" while jogging, which could be a nod to Steve Rogers' iconic "I can do this all day" line.
