History
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is an original mini-series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, made for the streaming service Disney+, produced by Marvel Studios.
The series has Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles as the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, respectively, as they deal with issues in a world after Captain America's retirement in Avengers: Endgame.[1]
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was originally slated to be Marvel Studios' premiere series on Disney+. However, production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic delayed its release, which pushed WandaVision ahead to become the first Marvel Studios series on Disney+.[2]
During Disney's Investor Day in December 2020, it was announced that the series would debut on March 19, 2021.[3]
