Races and Species:
Synopsis for "3 X 1"
Both the Mutant Underground and the Sentinel Services mourn their losses from the attack on Trask's laboratory. Despite their children's objections, Caitlin and Reed think it's time for their family to leave the Underground's headquarters in Atlanta and get to Mexico as they originally planned. Esme and her sisters suddenly return to the Underground's headquarters after having lost their trust for how Esme manipulated them. The sisters want to forge an alliance with the Underground - with them using their connections to find information while the Underground provide the muscle for their operations - but Eclipse wants nothing to do with them. The Struckers take the sisters' sudden return as their cue to leave. They arrive at the Underground's outpost in Fairburn, where Lauren is reunited with Wes. That night, Esme's sisters separately try to convince Andy Strucker and Polaris to work with them.
The Sentinels attack the Fairburn outpost the next day. Leading the assault are two Hounds whose mutant abilities were combined through a device Dr. Campbell created based on his observations of the Strucker children and their grandfather's research. While the rest of the refugees at the outpost quickly surrender to the Sentinels, the Struckers and Wes hunker down until the Underground can arrive and help them get out of there. Andy is knocked out when he attempts to take on the Hounds by himself. The Hounds are still able to overpower Eclipse, Polaris, Thunderbird, and Blink when they arrive, and the Underground are forced to flee into the woods. With the Sentinels closing in on them, Andy regains consciousness to tell them there's help nearby. They follow him to Esme and her sisters, who incapacitated Sentinel Services agents. They escape in the Sentinels' vehicles, and when they get back to headquarters, the Underground agrees to work with them.
Later, Agent Turner recommends using Dr. Campbell's Hounds to the agency's director. Esme and her sisters tell their partner in the Hellfire Club that the Mutant Underground is back on their side.
