Synopsis for "boXed in"

Four years ago, Jace Turner - then only a Dallas police officer - his wife Paula, and their daughter Grace have a picnic in a park when a nearby mutant rights protest turns violent. One mutant's abilities go haywire, causing an explosion that kills Grace and leaves Jace and Paula seriously injured.

In the present day, Agent Turner and the Sentinel Services continue their manhunt for the Mutant Underground. Thunderbird and the Struckers return to the Underground's headquarters while Polaris and Eclipse try to throw the Sentinel Services' drones off them. After they destroy the drone, Polaris and Eclipse run into a Sentinel Services' roadblock. Polaris uses her mutant abilities to throw the Sentinel Services' agents aside and take Agent Turner hostage.

At headquarters, Fade confronts Reed about his work with the Sentinel Services. While Caitlin and her children work to heal Trader's wounds, Reed tries to win over the Underground's trust. He deciphers the Sentinel Services' radio chatter after Sage realizes something is wrong with them, discovering the Sentinels and Atlanta PD are closing in on their location. Reed comes up with a plan to send them in the wrong direction by appearing on security cameras on the other side of the city, but the plan requires Fade to help him if he has any chance of getting out safely. Reed makes a run for it when Fade doesn't show up at their rendezvous point, only for Reed to run right into Fade's hidden car - a "test" to prove where Reed's loyalties lied.

Polaris and Eclipse interrogate Agent Turner in an abandoned building. He refuses to tell them anything about what the Sentinel Services did to Pulse to turn him into one of their agents. Dreamer has Blink take her to the building so she can extract Agent Turner's memories about what happened to Pulse. The Sentinel Services and Atlanta PD suddenly surround the building. With little time left, Dreamer uses her powers on Agent Turner. When she sees this, Blink realizes Dreamer planted the memory of her and Thunderbird in her head. The mutants escape through one of Blink's portals, but have to leave Agent Turner behind still strapped to the wall. The Sentinel Services' tear gas mixes with Dreamer's smoke, causing Agent Turner to lose control of his own memories.

That night, the Struckers decide to stay and help the Underground for now rather than escape to Mexico. Agent Turner returns home and has no memory of his daughter's death.
