Synopsis
Eclipse leaves the Underground's headquarters so he can secretly meet with the Cartel after Carmen called in the debt he owes her. Carmen wants Eclipse to assist the Cartel in destroying one of the Russian mob's drug shipments. Polaris catches on to what he is up to, and leaves with Dreamer to find where the Cartel took Eclipse. They find him just as he destroys the Russians' shipment and is seemingly welcomed back into the Cartel by Carmen. They leave in disgust, and Polaris confronts Eclipse about his deal with the Cartel when he returns to the Underground's headquarters.
Thunderbird tracks down Blink so the Sentinel Services can't get to her first and get the Underground's location from her. When he finds her, Blink refuses to rejoin the Underground. Thunderbird believes Blink's problem runs deeper than the memory Dreamer gave her, and thinks they need to go to some place from her past so she can move past what's bothering her. They go back to the farmhouse where Blink used to live, a foster home run by a couple who wanted to provide a home for mutants who could not pass as human. Sentinel Services recently raided the farmhouse, however, and killed the couple who ran the home.
Reed discovers a police sketch resembling Lauren's new friend Wes among the files he recovered in Baton Rouge. According to the report, Wes was a con artist who used his mutant abilities for his own profit prior to going on the run. Reed shows this to Caitlin, and they confront their daughter with what they've learned about her potentially dangerous new friend. Lauren refuses to believe her parents, but she later confronts Wes with this information anyway. Reed convinces Wes to come clean to the Underground. They decide to forgive him for hiding his criminal past from them, and Wes volunteers to join the Underground's cell in Augusta.
Later, Sage shares what she discovered about Pulse in the files with Reed and Thunderbird. She says Pulse was among the first mutants drafted into a program run by Trask Industries, a private military contractor. Reed reveals his father worked for Trask Industries for several decades up until it was shut down, and isn't sure if he has anything to do with what the Sentinel Services did to Pulse.
Agent Turner's work with Dr. Campbell has gotten the attention of the Department of Justice. The DOJ send an official to the Sentinel Service's regional headquarters in Atlanta to rein them in, but Campbell, unwilling to give up his work, has his aide (one of his Hounds) quietly give the official a stroke with his mutant abilities. Agent Turner realizes the official's stroke was no accident and demands Dr. Campbell reveal how he did this to her. Dr. Campbell has Agent Turner come by his laboratory and shows him the army of brainwashed mutants he has created to win the war against mutants.
