Synopsis
Fourteen years ago, Clarice lived in a foster home in Florida with many other foster siblings. Her foster parents were abusive, and only took in kids like Clarice because they would make an extra $50 by raising kids with the X-Gene. Her foster father, Miles, came home drunk one night, and fearing his abuse, Clarice escaped with her foster sister Lilly. When the girls realized Miles would instead beat the other kids, Lilly asked Clarice to send her back to their foster home and face him. Miles would kill Lilly in his drunken rage.
In the present day, the Underground prepares for Evangeline's summit. Evangeline wants there to be representatives from all the nearby stations and the Morlocks. That night, Lauren and Andy again meet in their dreams. Lauren attacks Andy with her new abilities, leaving him with a bloody nose in the real world. The Frost sisters realize Lauren is turning Andy into a liability for them, and the only solution is to make her join the Inner Circle. Caitlin and Lauren return to Atlanta to see if Caitlin's brother Danny - a lawyer whose firm works with Homeland Security - can find any information about what Reeva Payge is planning with Benedict Ryan. Danny is surprised to see his sister and niece as he believed they were all dead. Danny reluctantly agrees to help them, but the Sentinel Services arrested him the moment he started poking around. He agreed to help the Sentinels apprehend Caitlin and Lauren in exchange for his own freedom. When he meets up with them, however, he suddenly has a change of heart and warns them Sentinel Services was on its way. Rather than simply run, Lauren fights back against the Sentinels with her new powers, destroying their convoy. Before they leave, Danny warns them Benedict Ryan is secretly running the Purifiers, and that Reeva has compromised various parts of the government. Meanwhile, Reed's mutant powers begin to re-emerge after he listens to his grandfather's music box.
Marcos, Johnny and Clarice pick up Erg to bring him to the summit. Evangeline told them Erg owes her because she once saved his life, but Erg reveals he founded the Underground with her and she stopped him from saving mutants they tried to get across the border after they were betrayed by a human ally. Erg thought they could no longer trust humans, so he left the Underground to form the Morlocks. Lorna calls Marcos to warn them Reeva's hit team just left and believes they're after Evangeline. The team hurries to the summit, but when they arrive they find Reeva's hit team has already destroyed the place. Johnny wants to run in and look for survivors even though paramedics are already pulling out dead bodies, but the others stop him before anyone sees him. A fight breaks out between Johnny and Erg when Johnny wants the Morlocks to continue the Underground's fight. Clarice stops Marcos from getting involved and breaks up the fight. With the Underground seemingly finished, Clarice decides to leave them and join the Morlocks.
That night, the Frost sisters watch over Andy as he goes to sleep so they can help him fight his sister in their shared dream.Cast
