Synopsis for "calaMity"
Four years ago, Reeva Payge hires Benedict Ryan - then a failed political candidate running a low-rated talk radio show preaching hatred towards mutants - as a "salesman." In the present day, Reeva meets Ryan outside the Lincoln Memorial, hands him intel on the Morlocks, and orders him to have Jace Turner take care of them. Back at her headquarters, the Frost sisters search for the spy who got Max killed. Reeva executes Sage when the Frosts incorrectly identify her as the culprit. Andy later told Lorna about what happened to Sage, causing Lorna to feel guilty for causing her death.
Jace Turner leads a team of Purifiers into the tunnels to wipe out the Morlocks. Although the mutants quickly pick off two of them, the Purifiers gain the upper hand after they booby-trap their deceased comrades with a smoke grenade. Blink gets many of the Morlocks to the surface so Marcos, Johnny and the Struckers can get them to safety, while the Morlocks who can fight stay behind to take on the Purifiers. When the Struckers' van is surrounded by the police, Lauren - still under the affects of Reed's antidote - is unable to use her powers to cut through their lines. Caitlin is forced to shoot at the police through the van's windshield and ram through the police cars blocking the road. In the sewers, the Morlocks' numbers are down to just Blink, Erg, and a small girl who wasn't evacuated. Blink gets Erg and the girl to the surface where Johnny is waiting for them, but Turner fatally shoots Blink before she can cross through her portal.
