Synopsis for "outMatched"

The Underground wants to hire Wire again to hack into the Inner Circle's files to see why they are tapping into a data cable under the Health Department. When they go to his hideout, however, the Underground find the place abandoned except for Wire's brother Graph. Graph fights the Underground, blaming them for Wire's death, but they quickly overpower him and bring him back to Washington. Graph claims the Frost sisters forced Wire to kill himself, so he refuses to help the Underground hack into the Inner Circle out of fear for his own life. Caitlin, however, recognizes Graph is a drug addict, and forces him to help the Underground by giving him a medicine that immediately sends him into withdrawal. Graph finds the Inner Circle is looking into Lynwood Hospital, a facility in Bethesda known for detaining mutants.

Meanwhile, Jace Turner is holed up in his hotel room desperately trying to get in touch with his wife, their marriage deteriorating as Paula realizes her husband will never step back from this fight. One of the police officers Turner worked with in Washington contacts him, asking to meet him at a diner about the fight against mutants. The officer reveals himself to be a member of the Purifiers, and asks Turner to attend one of their meetings.

Marcos, Clarice, John and Lauren go to Bethesda to check out Lynwood on their own. Back at base, Caitlin gives Graph a drug to bring back his high to help him hack. He gets into the facility's security cameras, and finds Lorna, Andy, and the Frost sisters are already at the hospital. Clarice opens a portal so she and John can get inside the hospital, while Marcos and Lauren check the perimeter. Clarice and Johnny track the Inner Circle to the deepest levels of the hospital, where they must be looking for one of the most dangerous mutants imprisoned there. They catch up to Lorna, but Lorna frees the other mutants detained at the hospital as a distraction. The other mutants start, driven insane by what's been done to them at Lynwood, start killing each other. Johnny and Clarice decide to help these mutants get to safety rather than continue after the Inner Circle. Outside, Marcos and Lauren try to stop the Inner Circle from driving away. Andy gets outside their car to confront his sister. Lauren tries to get through to him, to bring him back home, but Andy throws them aside, even breaking through Lauren's defensive barrier.

John calls Reed to tell them they are on their way back with the mutants they rescued from Lynwood, and with Lauren and Marcos unconscious from their encounter with Andy. Meanwhile, a video confession of Lynwood's administration admitting illegally detaining mutants goes viral. The Frost sisters, Lorna, and Andy return to headquarters with the dangerous mutant they rescued from the hospital.
