Issues/Episodes
Notes
- "The Hyborian Age" was a pseudo-historical essay written by Robert E. Howard, and first published in The Phantagraph in February-November 1936.
- "The Hyborian Age" was adapted three times:
- It was first adapted in the black-and-white magazine Savage Sword of Conan, as a 6-parts series from Savage Sword of Conan #7 to 17 (August, 1975 to February, 1977), written by Roy Thomas and penciled by Walt Simonson.
- It was later adapted in colored yet abridged versions, covering the three first chapters (covered in the first adaptation in Savage Sword of Conan #7, 8 and 12), up to the Age of Conan, on two occasions:
- Conan the Barbarian #87 (June, 1978), written by Roy Thomas and penciled by Ernie Chan.
- Conan the Adventurer #5 (October, 1994), written by Roy Thomas and penciled by Audwyn Newman.
Trivia
- The essay fully ignores Acheron and its Fall save for mentioning that the Stygians were repelled from Shem and beyond the Styx, despite Robert E. Howard having created Acheron soon before, in "The Hour of Conan"/"Conan the Conqueror" (Weird Tales; December, 1935 to April, 1936).
