History

Telepath Theresa Bellwether met Eddie Passim while they were both working at the DoD ESPer station, where they both stole secrets; being "tank neighbours", they started a relationship, dreaming of a shared future.[1] Although restricted in movements, they did become lovers.[2]

General Harry "TNT" Kenkoy took Bellwether to dissect and use her brain cells and other biological components to gene-splice,[1][3] developing a virus-based biological weapon, About Face, that answered to thoughts to alter the body.[3] Due to their telepathic bond, Passim heard Bellwether's dying screams in his mind - although at that point, Kenkoy had already sliced her vocal cords.[4] Colonel Nick Fury found out about this just too late, finding Kenkoy in an operating room with Bellwether's corpse. Fury, regretting Bellwether's useless death, maneuevered to end Kenkoy's career and operation,[1] but not before Kenkoy staged a large-scale test of the virus in June 13th, 1963, where 22 agents distributed vials of the virus through the New York City subway; 22 of the vials broke,[4] but one remained intact. This was arranged by Passim,[5] who had joined the operation in an attempt to get close to Kenkoy and get even for Bellwether - however, when Passim had a chance to kill Kenkoy, he lacked the courage,[3] leading to Passim running away for decades, becoming a deranged derelict[5] and remembering Bellwether all that time,[6] while Kenkoy could barely care any less for her.[3] Eventually, Passim faced Kenkoy and sacrificed his own life to kill him, while the last vial of the virus made with Bellwether's cells was used to turn the body of a hellspawn monster into a short-lived human being.[2]
