History

Origin[]

Hoping to solve the world's problems, Gregory Knox created cyborg clones of history's greatest minds, beginning with the famed inventor Thomas Edison.[1] Unfortunately, Edison's DNA sample was contaminated by Knox's pet cockatiel during the synthesis, turning the clone into a human-bird hybrid.[4]

Generation Why[]

Edison set up shop in a decommissioned factory just outside of Bayonne in New Jersey's Hudson County,[5] started using the nom de guerre The Inventor, and began experimenting in alternative power sources and bioengineering.[6] With help from Knox, the Inventor also began recruiting disenchanted youths to voluntarily be part of his experiment in using the human body as a living battery.[7]

Ms. Marvel first learned about the Inventor's scheme while attempting to free Vick Carrelli.[8] This altercation ignited a feud between the Inventor and Ms. Marvel.[5]

Inventor later perished in battle against Ms. Marvel when his one of his robots fell apart and collapsed on top of him, crushing him to death.[2]

The demonic energies unleashed from Limbo during Chasm and the Goblin Queen's invasion of New York City reactivated a microchip in the Inventor's brain, causing him to revive as a zombie-like being who, after allying with a group of demons who had possessed construction equipment, confronted his creator, Knox. The Inventor learned from Knox that he was just the first in a line of bird-based clones of famous inventors, who the Inventor convinced to help him get revenge on Ms. Marvel as part of a team called the Inventors. After Ms. Marvel drove off all of his allies, the Inventor tried to kill her on his own, but she was saved when Bruno Carrelli used an EMP to kill the Inventor.[9]
