Thor is the God of Thunder from the legends of Asgard, empowered by the magic mallet Mjolnir to combat villainy. The son of Odin, Thor, has fallen for Earth and its honorable people, acting as their champion as the result of a lesson of humility his father had machinated. Originally, to operate on Earth, the God of Thunder used the mortal form of Donald Blake. Mortals were empowered by Mjolnir, being transformed into the mighty Thor as well. Architect Eric Masterson shared his spirit with Thor, later becoming Thunderstrike. As the hero of the Ten Realms, Dr. Jane Foster, Blake's former colleague, secretly wielded the powers of Thor while combatting cancer, sacrificing her health in the process to fight for those in need and ensure there would always be a Thor. After returning the mantle to her predecessor, Jane Foster has assumed the responsibility of being the last Valkyrie.
