Synopsis for "Tales of... ...Asgard! Home of the Mighty Norse Gods"
The first part in a series telling some of the ancient legends of Asgard, this premiere story explains the early origins of the home of the Gods and the birthplace of the mighty Thor.
It explains that the origins of these legends have their root from the Ancient Norsemen who crafted these tales. We are introduced to the Aesir (good gods) and their opponents the evil Frost Giants, and how they would wage battle in a realm bound by fire in the south and mist in the north.
At this world's end, the legends state the demon of fire, Surtur sits planning the destruction of the Gods, while deep below them all is the Well of Life. Aeons ago, the realm of Asgard was a world of pure ice until the birth of Ymir the greatest of the Frost Giants, followed by a magical cow. Soon the first of the Asgardians would be born, Buri.
As time would go on, Buri would take a wife and have a son named Borr. Borr would also have children of his own, one of them growing to be the soon mighty Odin. It would be Odin who would eventually vanquish Ymir. Following the ice giants defeat, Odin and his brothers would plant Yggdrasill, the Life Tree and protect the Earth, preparing it for the coming of man.Appearing in "Tales of Asgard: Odin Battles Ymir, King of the Ice Giants"

Arriving at Mirmir, Thor has to battle first the dragon Skord and the boar god Gullin before he reaches the palace.
There King Mirmir, who controls the Mystic Fountain from which all waters flow, awaits him. Thor gives him a piece of the Tree of Life, Yggdrasill, which Mirmir drips into the Fountain. Synopsis for "Tales of Asgard: Heimdall the Guardian of the Rainbow Bridge!"
—OdinToo long has the Rainbow Bridge remained unguarded! Too many times have our enemies attacked Asgard by crosing its shimmering brilliance! The bridge needs a sentry! And that is why I have decided to appoint a guardian of the Rainbow Bridge! I have selected three warriors--and now I shall choose one of you!
This is the story of how Heimdall came to be the guardian of Bifrost the rainbow bridge. Odin holds a sort of try-out, summoning Heimdall and two other worthy candidates. Agnar the Fierce is the first, and offers himself as having the mightiest chest, the strongest lungs, and that none but he has the power to sound the horn warning, Gjallahorn. As he demonstrates this ability, the "roar reaches to infinity." The second is Gotron the Agile, who claims that his deeds speak for themselves, and that he wass nimble enough to defeat seven frost giants at once, when they attacked Asgard "only last year."
The last is Heimdall The Faithful, who shows that he has useful abilities other than strength "that is a match for any." He proves this by stepping out into Odin's garden and, by placing his ear on the grass, hears the tiniest plant growing in the heart of a place known as the "Hidden Hills," which was scorched by the fiery breath of a dragon. After Odin dispatches his gardener to verify the tiny new plant just blossoming into life, Heimdall proves himself further. He says that his eyesight is so keen that he "can see across time as well as space!!" He then informs Odin of a "savage band of Storm Giants" marching towards the rainbow bridge, still two days away. Odin then dispatches a heavily-armed war party to meet the Storm Giants. The war party returns in days, with the King of the Storm Giants as prisoner. These demonstrations of abilities and noble character earn Heimdall the position of "Guardian of the Rainbow Bridge - - FOREVER!"Solicit Synopsis
