History

In a reality where Yggdrasil the world tree grew in Midgard, Thor grew up in a Brooklyn styled Asgard. With his father Odin's ceremony coming up, Thor wants to try to have a good day, but then he has to think about his responsibilities. Even after meeting with his friends of the Warriors Three, Thor still feels pressured. As his uncle Loki arrived, he invited Thor to join him on a journey to Jotenheim to pick up a gift for Odin's ceremony. Just as they arrived, they were attacked by Frost Giants. While Thor battled them, Loki goes inside the palace to find a giant skull. He explained to Thor that it was the head of Laufey and that it would make a wonderful gift to Odin.[1]

After Loki explained its history to his nephew, Thor wondered if he had what it would take to be king. When Thor revealed the skull to the audience, Loki turned on him by unleashing the Casket of Ancient Winters reviving Laufey. During the fight, Laufey froze Mjolnir and began to freeze Thor as well. As he was about to be frozen to death, Thor unleashed all his power in a big burst and defeated Laufey once and for all. As Loki was being banished, he told his nephew that he didn't have what it takes to rule. Weeks later, Thor still felt distraught that he let his father down. While Sif was trying to comfort him, a portal opened revealing different versions of himself who said they needed his help since his uncle was causing trouble for them.[1]
