  • Hi!

Given this edit, could you add a referenced note on Topaz (Earth-199999) to prove your point?

    Thanks in advance.

    • Every informative website states her to be based on the Malibu Comics variant, but I can't find one from any of the crew members of the movie seeing that they didn't give much insight on the characters of the movie, so I'm a bit confused as to what I would put and what to source it to.

    • Are we sure its actually her, and not an original character? she doesn't look like either Topaz to me, I asked Taika on twitter since I saw you guys discussing it, but I don't know if he answers people.

    • Topaz's yellow and black clothing mirrors one of her outfits in the comics. In the comics, she had possessed a Gwendorian staff which is replicated as Grandmaster's Melt Stick she carries in Ragnarok. Topaz in the comics was pit against the Avengers alongside the other Ultraforce members during a competition between Grandmaster and Loki with the Avengers on Loki's side and Ultraforce on Grandmaster's side.

I tend to have defiance towards informative websites, given the number of false or inaccurate information people tends to spread (like saying Namor and Apocalypse are the first mutants)

Don't know at all, but the lack of reference for any of the four options (a. Topaz-616 counterpart, b. Topaz-Ultraforce counterpart, c. Merger of both, d. neither counterpart of any)

    • I don't buy it. A character named Topaz is kinda expected to have a yellow colour scheme as part of their costume. In the same way someone who has the word Jade as part of their name is dressed in green.

And does the staff she use in the comics do the same thing in the movie, as in melting people? If not, I think it's too big of a jump to assume it's based on that character, simply based on aesthetic coincidences.
